대체로 데이터로 기록, 보관, 유통되는 오늘날의 이미지는 물리적 몸을 얻기 전에 한없이 가볍다. 그리고 문맥에서 이탈된 이미지는 그 표면적 매끄러움을 과시하기에 여념이 없다. 반면 육신을 얻은 이미지는 어떠한가. 인화의 프로세스를 거쳐, 단단한 프레임에 안착하거나, 매체적 특질에 기대어 촉지적 감각을 일깨우고, 일상에서 사진이 존재하는 양식을 뒤트는 안초롱의 (사진)이미지는 기존의 기억과 새로운 해석 사이에서 관객의 서사를 요구한다. 데이터 더미에서 길어 올려진 그의 이미지는 새로운 맥락적 해석을 위한 잠재태에서 일상과 삶의 이미지로 전환되고, 때로는 사랑이나 증오, 후회나 기념과 같은 내밀한 정서를 촉발하며, 순간에 머무는 데이터 이미지에 더해진 살(flesh)은 영원과도 같은 정동적 순간을 염원한다.

Today's images, primarily recorded, stored, and circulated as data, remain infinitely weightless before taking on a tangible form. Detached from context, such images revel in the sleekness of their surfaces. But what of images that gain corporeality? Through the process of printing, settling into frames, or relying on the material properties of their medium to awaken a tactile sense, and even disrupting the conventional modes of photography’s existence in daily life, AN Chorong’s (photographic) images invite public to provoke their own narratives between memory and newly generated interpretation. Drawn from the vast reservoir of data, her data-images shift from a latent state of potential meaning into images of everyday life and lived experience. At times, they evoke intimate emotions such as love or hatred, regret or remembrance, infusing fleeting data-images with flesh in a longing for an affective moment that lingers like eternity.
