기체는 2026년 5월 21일부터 6월 20일까지 윤미선 작가의 개인전 《구球와 물곰팡이》(Ball and Water Mold)를 개최합니다.
윤미선은 드로잉, 회화, 패브릭(원단 작업)을 통해 ‘나’와 ‘우리’의 내면을 살피고 드러냅니다. 그는 차창 밖이나 길 위에서 스쳐 지나간 타인들의 쉬 사라지지 않고 머릿속에 맴도는 얼굴, 감정이 배어난 표정을 화면 위로 불러내 쏟아내듯 굴리고 흐트러뜨립니다. 이는 타자의 몸을 빌려 ‘또 다른 나’를 인식하는 과정이며, 이로써 표출된 감정의 피부 아래로 침잠해 들어가는 회화적 의식입니다.
《구球와 물곰팡이》는 천이나 종이에 그려내거나 조합해낸 이미지들이 수렴하고 있는 작업의 특징적 요소이자 그의 철학적 태도, 신념을 드러내는 표상입니다. 우선 ‘구(ball)’은 작가가 화면에 대상을 드러내는 조형적 축이자 순환의 방식입니다. ‘물곰팡이(water mold)’는 오래 묵은 아크릴 물감에 앉은 물곰팡이, 먼지와 더불어 긴 시간 순행하는 오염, 부식, 소멸입니다. 그런 관점에서 윤미선에게 이 둘은 열려 있으면서 닫혀 있고, 부패됨으로써 새생명을 잉태하는 생멸의 순환, 즉 자연 자체에 부합합니다.
윤미선(b.1979)은 홍익대학교에서 섬유미술학과를 졸업했다. 갤러리 까비넷(2025, 2022, 서울), 노블레스 컬렉션(2017, 서울), 아트스페이스 플라스마(2015, 서울), 갤러리 메이(2015, 서울), 갤러리 담(2012, 서울)에서 개인전을 했으며, 아트 스페이스 호화(2024, 서울), 메종 오즈멘(2023, 파리), 갤러리 까비넷(2023, 서울), FFF 컨템포러리(2023, 서울), 에이블 파인 아트 NY 갤러리 (2013, 서울), 갤러리 이마주(2011, 서울), 워크룸 윈도우 갤러리(2009, 서울) 등 그룹전에 참여했다. 주요 소장처로는 The Yassmin and Sasan Ghandehari Collection, Isabelle and Fabrice de Pontfrache Collection, 가나아트, 기지재단, 서울옥션, 세라젬, 에이스침대, 저축은행 등이 있다.

Kiche presents Ball and Water Mold, a solo exhibition by Yoon Miseon, running from 21 May 2026 through 20 June.
Through drawing, painting, and fabric works, Yoon attends to the porous interior of the self and the collective. Faces glimpsed through car windows or in passing linger rather than disappear, resurfacing as emotionally charged expressions rolled, scattered, and unsettled across the picture plane. In Yoon’s work, recognizing the "other self" becomes a descent beneath the skin of externalized feeling.
Ball and Water Mold gathers images drawn and pieced together on fabric and paper into a circulating logic of emergence and dissolution. For Yoon Miseon, the “ball” becomes a formal structure through which images surface, drift, and return, while “water mold” names the slow accretion of dust, corrosion, and decay settling into old acrylic paint over time. These forms remain suspended between openness and enclosure, tracing a movement in which decomposition gives way to regeneration. In Yoon’s work, decay does not signal an end point, but participates in a continuous cycle through which life quietly renews itself.
Miseon YOON(b.1979) graduated from Hongik University (Seoul) with a B.F.A. in Textile Art. Yoon has held solo exhibitions at Gallery Kabinett (2025, 2022, Seoul), Noblesse Collection (2017, Seoul), Art Space Plasma (2015, Seoul), Gallery May (2015, Seoul) and Gallery Dam (2012, Seoul). Group exhibitions include Art Space HOHWA (2024, Seoul), Maison Ozmen (2023, Paris), Gallery Kabinett (2023, Seoul), FFF Contemporary (2023, Seoul), Able Fine Art NY Gallery (2013, Seoul), Gallery Imazoo (2011, Seoul) and Workroom Window Gallery (2009, Seoul).
