휘슬은 8월 30일(토)부터 10월 18일(토)까지 현남 개인전 <필드 안의 둥지>를 개최합니다.
<필드 안의 둥지>는 초연결 사회(Hyper-connected Society)라고 일컬어지는 동시대의 통신 네트워크 시스템과 테크놀로지에 대한 문제를 지속적으로 다루어 온 현남의 새로운 유형의 작업을 선보입니다. 전시는 전자파과민증(Electromagnetic Hypersensitivity)이라는 질병에 대한 관심에서 출발하여, 눈에 보이지 않지만 우리의 삶 도처에 흐르는 전자기파에 투사된 실체 없는 공포와 믿음을 다양한 물질적 실험을 통해 형태화합니다.

Whistle is pleased to present <Nest in the Field>, a solo exhibition by Hyun Nahm.
“Nest in the Field” signals a departure from the evocative towering forms (modeled after cellular base stations) that defined the past five years of his artistic production. But his new works expand upon the anxieties and uncertainties that have always propelled his practice, exploring issues surrounding the communication network infrastructure of today’s hyper-connected society. This exhibition contends with the physiological effects of Electromagnetic Hypersensitivity (EHS), a condition caused by sensitivity to electromagnetic fields, through diverse approaches to manifesting the intangible fears and beliefs projected onto the invisible electromagnetic waves that permeate our lives.
