‘VOICI’는 불어로 this is, these are, here is, here are(…)를 뜻한다. 즉 '현재'라는 시간과 '이곳'이라는 장소를 지칭하는 용어이다. 동시대성을 설명하기 위한 철학 글에서 자주 목격할 수 있다. 그리고 ‘VOICE’는 말 그대로 목소리인데, 사전적으로는 '목에서 나는 소리’일 뿐이지만, 사회적으로는 발언이나 주장을, 미학적으로는 정체성이나 존재를 비유할 경우 사용되기도 한다.

“VOICI” is a French word meaning “this is,” “these are,” “here is,” or “here are.” It refers to both a temporal moment—the present—and a spatial condition—the here and now. The term is often found in philosophical texts that seek to describe contemporaneity. “VOICE,” on the other hand, literally refers to “a sound produced from the throat,” but its meaning extends further.
