‘침을 뱉는다’는 본능적이고 일상적인 행위에서 출발한 «SPIT : 뱉어지며 변하는»은 우리가 내보낸 물질, 생각, 감정들이 어떻게 새로운 생명체로 변이해 가는지를 탐구한다.
이 전시는 WETGENES(웻진스)의 새로운 어스웨어(Earthwear)와 필름이 처음으로 공개되는 자리이자, HAÇIENDA(하시엔다)와 정은형, 이지은을 포함한 4팀의 아티스트와 협업하여 다양한 매체를 통해 변이의 과정을 시각화한다. 또한 변화와 진화가 단순히 긍정적 방향만을 지향하지 않으며, 생존을 위한 끊임없는 변이가 필연적임을 환기시킨다.

«SPIT : 뱉어지며 변하는» begins with the instinctive and everyday act of spitting, exploring how the materials, thoughts, and emotions we release mutate into new forms of life.
This exhibition marks the debut of WETGENES’ new Earthwear and film, and it’s a collaborative effort with HAÇIENDA, Eunhyung Chung, Ji-eun Lee, and two other artist teams, visualizing the mutation process through various mediums. It also reminds us that change and evolution don’t always follow a positive trajectory; rather, constant mutation is inevitable for survival.
