전시 소개
팩션은 2024년 6월 12일부터 7월 4일까지 상희 게임 프로젝트 《조우를 위한 대화형 지도》를 개최한다. 프로젝트 중 관객이 참여할 수 있는 ‘대화형 게임 플레이 퍼포먼스’가 진행되며, 퍼포먼스가 없는 기간 그 결과물이 전시된다. 퍼포먼스의 참여자는 재난이 닥친 고향으로 돌아왔다는 설정의 캐릭터가 되어 전시장 벽에 설치된 게임 맵을 채워 나간다. 상희가 게임의 진행자인 GM(Game Master)을 맡고 관객이 전시의 실질적 창작자(작가)가 되어 대화를 나눈다. 지도는 진행자와 관객의 대화 내용을 바탕으로 꾸려진다. 전시는 지도가 텅 빈 채로 시작한다. 내용물이 없는 상태, 즉 ‘지도 이전의 지도’ 위로 참여자들이 함께 나눈 이야기가 ‘공동의 픽션’으로 채워지고, 이는 ‘허구의 고향이자 가상의 지도’로 완성된다. 이번 전시는 팩션의 세 번째 작가 공모 선정전으로 미디어아티스트 상희의 신작 프로젝트 발표와 비평을 지원한다. 퍼포먼스는 사전 예약제로 총 6일 진행된다. 금, 토, 일에 진행한 퍼포먼스의 결과물을 수, 목 일반 관람일에 확인할 수 있다.

About Exhibition
Faction is pleased to announce the opening of the solo exhibition “Dialogue-based Map for Encounters: Bugs of Nostalgia” by SANGHEE, which will be held from June 12th to July 7th, 2024. During the exhibition, the artist will conduct a live performance, which will be open to audience participation. The consequences of this performance will be on display for the remainder of the exhibition.
The live performance, which draws inspiration from the format of TRPG, is preceded by a continuous dialogue between the audience and the artist. Participants become travelers invited to a hometown overrun by white ants and unfamiliar beings. The artist assumes the role of the game master(GM), tasked with narrating the whole expedition. Every trace made by the audience accumulates and turns the ambiguous map into a place where the collective memories and loose alliances dwell.
