The solo exhibition 《Dew Point》 by Jung Youngho at N/A explores the artist’s perspective on the gap between real-life experience and the digital virtual world. Just as condensation forms at the dew point due to a temperature difference between the two sides of a window, the artist regards the physically experienced world as an “interior,” and the digitally mediated world of others as an “exterior,” attempting to visualize the temperature gap between these two realms. This “transparent window” between differing temperatures can be sensed on the screens of smart devices we touch daily, and in Jung’s work, it is rendered visible in the form of pixels. For the artist, this transparent screen or monitor functions as a conduit that connects the individual to the outside world.

정영호의 개인전 《Dew Point》의 오프닝이 5월 1일(목) 오후 5시부터 8시까지 진행됩니다.
N/A에서 열리는 정영호 개인전 《Dew Point》는 현실과 디지털 가상 세계 속 경험의 격차에 대한 작가의 견해를 담고 있다. 창문 양면의 온도 차로 발생한 이슬점(dew point)처럼 작가는 자신이 물리적으로 경험한 세계를 ‘내부’로 상정하고, 디지털 매체로 경험한 타인의 세상을 ‘외부’로 설정하고 이 두 세계의 온도 차를 시각화하고자 한다. 서로 다른 온도 사이 존재하는 이 ‘투명한 창’은 손끝으로 매일 사용하는 스마트 기기 모니터에서 감지할 수 있으며, 정영호의 작업에서는 픽셀 형태로 가시화된다. 그는 이 투명한 창이자 모니터를 개인과 외부를 연결해 주는 통로이자 경로로 여긴다.
