P21은 2024년 12월 13일부터 2025년 1월 25일까지 이현수의 개인전 ‘종만리‘를 개최합니다. 12월 13일 금요일 오후 4-7시 오프닝 행사가 진행 될 예정이니 많은 참석 부탁드립니다 !
‘종만리‘에서는 2022년부터 이어진 ‘빠빠쓰뗄’ 시리즈와 더불어 새로운 시리즈와 조각 작품들을 선보인다. 작가는 아버지의 신체적 쇠퇴를 지속적으로 탐구하며 파스텔로 그려진 초상화를 통해 아버지의 연약하고 취약한 모습을 섬세하게 묘사한다. 특히 이번 전시에서 공개 되는 ‘노안’시리즈는 그동안 작업 했던 아버지의 얼굴에서 아버지가 바라보는 거실과 정원 공간으로 시야가 확장된다.
이현수(b.1981)는 한국예술종합학교 미술원 조형예술과에서 평면조형전공 전문사와 스쿨 오브 비쥬얼 아트 뉴욕에서 순수미술 석사를 취득하였다. 주요 전시로는 빠빠쓰뗄;인천아트플랫폼;2022, 난 아직 시작도 안했는데;SeMA창고;2021 등이 있으며, 2023 서울시립미술관 난지미술창작스튜디오, 2022 인천아트플랫폼 입주작가로 선정되었다.

In Jong Man Ri, the artist will present works from the Papastel series, which began in 2022, alongside new series and sculptural pieces. Lee explores his father’s physical decline, delicately depicting his father’s frailty and vulnerability through pastel-drawn portraits. Notably, the Farsighted series, which will debut in this exhibition, expands the perspective from his father’s face to the living room and garden spaces his father observes portraying his father's own self contained world.
Hyunsoo Lee (b. 1981) holds a Master’s degree in Fine Arts from the School of Visual Arts, New York, and a another Master's Degree in Painting and Sculpture from the Korea National University of Arts. Notable exhibitions include Papastel at Incheon Art Platform (2022) and I Haven’t Even Started Yet at SeMA Storage (2021). Lee was also a resident artist at the Seoul Museum of Art’s Nanji Art Studio in 2023 and at Incheon Art Platform in 2022.
